Kari Huus

Reporter Kari Huus joined MSNBC.com at launch in 1996. She moved from Hong Kong, where she spent three years as a staff writer for the Far Eastern Economic Review. Prior to that, Huus spent four years in Beijing where she worked for Newsweek, and wrote and photographed a book on Beijing. She has also lived and studied in Taiwan and Singapore, where she was a Fulbright scholar.

Huus has reported extensively for MSNBC.com, covering Korean Peninsula nuclear tensions, Asia’s economic crisis, the fall of Indonesia’s President Suharto, the Hong Kong handover and a range of foreign policy and domestic issues, including MSNBC.com's post-Katrina coverage.
