Jealousy might have landed Jefferson in Milwaukee
Richard Jefferson has lots of feelings. He reportedly felt jealous Vince Carter was an All-Star, and so he let his defense suffer while concentrating on offense last season. Traded to the Bucks on draft day, he said that he felt rejected and didn’t want to go. He’s got last laugh now, though, as Carter is probably jealous Jefferson can call Wisconsin home.  (The Record)

Blazers coach wants to earn contract
The Blazers approached coach Nate McMillan about negotiating a contract extension, but the coach (who has two years remaining with the team) says he wants to finish his current deal before talking about spending more time in Oregon.  (The Oregonian)

Morning rumors
Sixers and Golden State to battle over top free agents
Elton Brand of the Clippers and Josh Smith of the Hawks are the two men that Golden State and the 76ers are likely to do the most tussling over this summer. Corey Maggette could get some play between the two as well, but it's believed that other teams such as Boston, Detroit, and San Antonio have more interest in him, while the Magic and Heat appear to be out of the running for him. The Warriors will apparently offer Brand somewhere between $10 million and $20 million than the Clippers can offer and the Sixers can offer around $11 million per season for either player. It also appears that the Sixers will make more cap space by trading swingman Rodney Carney and center Calvin Booth to Minnesota for cash and future draft picks. (Philadelphia Inquirer, TV Sports Daily, Orlando Sentinel, South Florida Sun-Sentinel)

Billups for Harrington?
The Warriors are trying to unload forward Al Harrington and the remaining two years and approximately $20 million on his contract. The team also needs a point guard so word is that there's a way outside chance the Pistons could send Chauncey Billlups to the Warriors but won't do it for Harrington alone. (Detroit News)
