Ashton Kutcher and wife Demi Moore put on brave — and loving — faces as they helped launch the Real Men Don’t Buy Girls campaign at the Clinton Global Initiative event on Thursday, in the midst of allegations of infidelity in their marriage.

The couple, who has been battling tabloid headlines over an alleged infidelity scandal aimed at Ashton, held hands and leaned in close to each other at the event where they announced to a group of reporters details of the campaign — a cause that has been close to their hearts for some time.

“The assumption is that slavery is a thing of the past. But there are more slaves in the world today than ever before. There are currently 27 million human slaves,” Ashton told reporters, according to USA Today of their new campaign.

Nicole Kidman promotes "The Paperboy" at Cannes; Willow Smith hits the "Men in Black 3" premiere and more.

“There is no way we could live in this world, and not do something about it,” Ashton, who celebrates his fifth anniversary with Demi on Friday, added.

The couple’s Demi & Ashton Foundatin (DNA) will run the campaign. Microsoft also announced it would be partnering with the group “to find new ways to put technology to work protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse,” Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs Pamela Passman said in a statement posted on Microsoft’s blog

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com earlier this month, Star magazine claimed the couple’s marriage was “in danger of falling apart” because the mag claimed the actor was allegedly “caught cheating with a sexy, young, 20-something.”

“I think Star magazine calling me a “cheater” qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees,” Ashton Tweeted following the first allegation.

“Star magazine — you don’t get to stand behind ‘freedom of the press’ when you are writing fiction,” he added.

Star stood by their story and, in fact, planned to publish texts from a woman who claimed to the tabloid she had sex with the actor after meeting him at the Lucky Strikes Lane bowling alley in Hollywood.

On Wednesday, Ashton’s attorney, Marty Singer, told Access Hollywood that he has yet to see the latest round of stories and had no comment until he speaks to his client.

Last week Singer told Access, “Star Magazine continuously publishes lies about Ashton Kutcher and many other celebrities. This is not the first, nor will it be the last time they engage in reckless conduct.”
