It’s time to burn those UGG boots! Spring is just around the corner and to help you get in the cheery mood, celebrity style expert and "Today" contributor Steven Cojocaru offers a look at some of the must-have items and wardrobe secrets of celebs like Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears and Madonna.

Gold bags are the “It” bags
Gold is everywhere! Metallics have been raging the last couple of seasons, but they are exploding this season. Clothes are really light this spring — feminine and flounced. So the flashy and glamorous accessories counter-balance that.
Here are some items for your collection:
-Fendi “Smile” Bag. $1180-$1450. Fendi 1-212-767-0100
-Roberto Vascon custom-design gold purse. $240. Henri Bendel. 1-800-HBENDEL.
-Banana Republic gold leather shirred mini. $58 --

The Generra Jacket is the "It" jacket
You name the “it” girl — and she’s got this “it” jacket: Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Demi Moore and Madonna have all purchased the same light pink leather cropped zip-up jacket by the new hot line, Generra (also comes in a silvery gray). It's a great staple — and it’s machine washable.
Generra Jacket, $498. Henri Bendel. 1-800-HBENDEL

James Jeans are the "It" jeans
James, the hottest new jean, sold out of Barneys in five days. They placed a 300 percent reorder. As a result, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Scoop, and Colette have picked them up. Who's wearing them? Julianne Moore wore them for a recent shoot and she refused to go home without them. Other celebs who are wearing them: Katie Holmes, Jamie Lynn DiScala, Courteney Cox, Britney Spears, Uma Thurman, and Mischa Barton.
James Jeans, $130-$150. Barneys New York, 212-826-8900

Yellow-gold is the "It" makeup color
A person with light-colored hair and eyes does better with a paler shade; and a person with darker tones needs deeper saturated color. So it’s soft gold for the fair; and primary yellow for olive, black and brown skin. The best ways to wear yellow: a brush of gold powder on top of pink blush, butter-cream liner along blue eyes, sheer lemon powder under the brows for a brown-eyed gal. And for blonde and brunette alike, sheer golden lip gloss brings it all together, while a bright toenail polish makes it fun.
MAC make-up. $12.50-$13.50. www.maccosmetics.com

Penhaligon's Travel Slippers are the "It" travel accessory
Perfect for slipper-ing about the house or strolling along the beach — Jessica Simpson loves the new super-soft Penhaligon’s Travel Slippers and just snapped them up in every color! She is obsessed and said she will be wearing them on her show — because they are so comfy and she can’t bear to take them off! They are made of Buttersoft Lamb Nappa leather and are very springy.
The brand new (just launched) spring colors are Peony (pastel pink) and Powder (light blue/gray).

St. Tropez Essentials Beach Makeup Bag is the "It" tote
Made out of a towel fabric, this cute little spring tote is perfect for going to the beach or toting makeup around on a trip. They come in bright pastels: pink, blue, green, orange and red and they all have sayings stitched on the front: “I Love Yoga,” “I Love Botox,” “I Love Pedicures,” “I Love Boys,” “I Love Lipgloss,” etc…. Available at Kitson, and snatched up by handfuls of A-list celebs.
“I Love” Cosmetics bags. $38.00. Kitson Boutique (310) 859-2652.
